Rental Car Inspection in Marrakech: Pickup Checklist

Before driving a rental car in Marrakech, inspect it with the partner and record visible defects on the handover document. Check the fuel level, mileage and agreed equipment as well. Photographs support this record but do not replace a document accepted by the parties. What should I photograph before departure?
Walk around the vehicle and photograph each side, bumpers, wheels and existing damage separately. Then record the dashboard showing mileage and fuel. Check that the images are clear and identify the vehicle. A quick video alone can miss a scratch or make its location difficult to understand. Keep the original files together with the handover paperwork.
What if a defect is missing from the document?
Point it out before signing and request a correction to the inspection record. Keep the corrected version with your photographs. If lighting prevents a proper inspection, ask for a better-lit position or an agreed written procedure for reporting a defect discovered afterwards. Do not treat an oral comment as equivalent to an annotation accepted by the partner.
Which checks concern using the vehicle?
Check seat belts, controls and the equipment explicitly included in your proposal. Ask how to contact the partner’s assistance service and what to do if a warning light appears. A visual handover check is not a mechanical inspection. If something appears unsafe, report it and clarify the solution with the partner before starting your journey.
